Osteopathia striata, or Voorhoeve's disease, is very rare, benign and usually painless disorder characterised by longitudinal dense striations in affected bones. On x-rays bilateral linear bands of increased radiodensity are often seen extend ing from the metaphyses of tubular bones into the diaphyses. The ilium shows a fanlike arrangement of striations; which radiate toward the iliac crests. The condition frequently coexists with other conditions; notably osteopoikilosis, melorheostosis and osteopetrosis. X-rays and photographs of the condition will appear in the coming weeks.
